Welcome to the Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences. We are a small institution situated in city of Kozhikode, the capital city of erstwhile Malabar. We are actively involved in setting up comm unity mental health clinics in the three northern districts of Kerala- Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad.
The Institute of Mental Health & Neur o sciences (IMHANS), Kozhikode is an autonomous institution established by the Government of Kerala in 1982. (G. O (MS) No.299/82/HD dt.4.12.82)
One of the aims of IMHANS is to develop com munity mental health program for the northern districts of Kerala so that mental patients could be treated and rehabilitated in the community it self. IMHANS was actively involved in commu nity psyc hiatry ac tivities from the beginning i tself.
